US economy sluggish, Federal Reserve survey shows

ECONOMIC activity was sluggish in most parts of the US and some areas weakened amid a slowdown in manufacturing, continued weakness in real estate and the impact of Hurricane Irene, a Federal Reserve survey showed today.
